While you were sleeping in April

What is this?

Some of you know that I often work at night, so I’ve called this section of my newsletter ‘While You Were Sleeping’. More a reminder to myself that occasionally my children do sleep then anything else. It will probably feel a little more like a blog then my main newsletter which will continue to only be sent out when I have big news or new works. I won’t be emailing this one out, so you’ll have to come and find it when you’re keen to see what’s happening.

This one might include some general life update, insights into what’s going on in the studio right now, some pics of my work in progress and it’ll probably include some random thoughts and ramblings from me :)

NEWS

The big news right now is that I’m working towards a solo show with Studio Gallery in Melbourne! It’ll be in their Cheltenham Gallery and the opening night will be November the 9th and it’ll be on until the 23rd of November. So pop that in your calendar if you’re keen!

Whats going on in the studio

Right now it’s looking very floral in the studio, I will be starting some clouds again soon- so stay tuned if you’re hanging out for more of that

These are all in the beginning stages- but I’m looking forward to getting stuck into some detail.

Trying out something new: The below image is looking really flat- this won’t be how the background stays! In the past I have used mainly paynes grey for my background, but I wanted to trial something new- I will layer up a few more bright and dark blues to hopefully increase the depth in the work. the flowers also need a lot of work, but that comes next.
